I love easy recipes and I love comfort food; the new cookbook entitled Food Network Magazine 1,000 Easy Recipes includes both of these things! Every recipe in the book is extra-short and simple. Basically it lists what ingredients you need and what to do with them in a one paragraph. There are 300 gorgeous food photos in this book that will have your mouth watering. There are honestly so many fantastic recipes in this book that my head is spinning. The section on Burgers & Dogs alone gave me loads of ideas for fun new twists on family fare; I can't wait to make these recipes for my family.
Here are a few sample recipes from Food Network Magazine 1,000 Easy Recipes...
Chicken Saltimbocca Panini
Brush the inside of a split ciabatta roll with pesto. Fill with sliced grilled chicken, fontina and prosciutto, and chopped sage. Press and cook until golden.
Coleslaw Potato Salad
Mix 1/3 cup each mayonnaise and olive oil with 1/4 cup whole grain mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Add 3 cups coleslaw mix, 3 chopped scallions and 2 pounds boiled quartered new potatoes.
Sage Lemonade
Heat 1 1/2 cups each sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves; let cool. Mix 2 cups of the sugar syrup with 1 1/2 cups lime juice, 1/2 cup lemon juice and 2 cups water in a pitcher; divide among ice filled glasses. Add a sprig of sage to each glass.
See what I mean? Short, easy, recipes that are interesting and delicious. This is my kind of cookbook!
